Quinoa, chia seeds, asaí, Goji berries, kale, turmeric, ginger are foods that have become fashionable in recent years for their alleged multiple properties, which make them complete foods that cover many of the needs of our body.
What real benefits do they have? Are they better than other foods? Here are some of its truths and its lies.
FALSE. Not only goji berries, kale or chia seeds are superfoods. Some of the most common foods that we buy in any supermarket have 'powers' for our organism. Some examples? Avocado, salmon, spinach, oats ...
TRUE. As with a traditional food, it is not enough to simply add them to the menu: you have to know how to take them to enhance their benefits for the body. Baked, steamed or raw are the best options, and better if we accompany them with a little olive oil and salt.

FALSE. The superfoods should be as fresh as possible. It is preferable to opt for its fresh version rather than dehydrated, since it contains more sugars; or milk and yogurt skimmed and lactose-free, which improve digestion.
TRUE. Among the benefits of these foods, the best known is to prevent the signs of aging. Oranges, because of their high content of vitamin C, improve the elasticity of the skin; Green tea, which contains many polyphenols, helps fight free radicals ...
FALSE. Consume more or less extent superfoods does not help prevent all types of diseases. But, by adding them to our diet, we keep our bodies at bay: probiotics, present in yoghurts, help maintain a well-kept intestinal flora, as well as pomegranate, perfect for reducing cholesterol levels.
